first of all nice lessons muris' cool.gif

I would like to ask a question about strings ringing.

What is the most effictive way to stop the snares from ringing if you play for instance a solo and you go up a strings. And don,t have any problems when a go down the strings then I mute the strings with the palm of my hand , but when I go up the strings I notice that it is not always so easy to stop them from ringing.

thanks

John

That's the issue of left hand muting.
You should use your index finger for that.
How?
Hard to explain in details but just try to slightly touch string with finger,
it'll become natural after some while, needs practicing. smile.gif

In lesson you mentioned there's no low E string in use, lowest one is A.
I have some trouble to realize what do you mean by
left hand picking finger and Right big finger ? unsure.gif

You mean right hand thumb? dry.gif No,it'd be really tricky to use it for muting while playing sweeps.

Here's basic rule,
mute lower strings with right hand palm,
mute higher strings with left hand(index finger usually) .

i'm got you
so you are use that style on any cases?? even if you play fast sweep acrross 6 string

for example if you picking B string and you mute for sure Hi-e with left hand and G with right Palm and you are use that in any case of sweep{thats like clasic mutig}

and when you for example picking note with left hand Pinky or ring are you muting just with these finger or you also add index for better result

and Thank you for previous quick answer cool.gif

You can use index as well.
It'll come naturally, you just have to play it more to see what feels comfortable for you.
I actually don't think of it a lot,which finger I'm muting,it comes "in walk",sort of speech. smile.gif
