I am using D'Addarios, 010 to 052, this "light top / heavy bottom" set. As I said I love Elixir on my acoustic guitar, I think on the last tour I changed strings on my acoustic about 4 or 5 times, and that tour lasted 18 months! And the sound was always great, so I will definitely stay with Elixir for my J45. The reason why I never tried those strings on my Les Pauls is that back then when I wanted to try them, there were not my gauges, they only offered the regular 010 set, and I definitely need the thick strings. Another reason is that on tour I change strings on my electric guitars every day, so this would definitely be a waste of the Elixirs, but now, at home, I would love to try them. I think I will check if they offer a kind of set like my D'Addarios too.

So if you went on tour for 18 months.... that would be like.... 18x30=540 sets of strings? Wow, i didn't use that much for as long as I play man

It is a safety issue, since we stared to change strings every day we don't break strings during our gigs anymore, before that this happened much more often. Haha, yeah, thank god I have a very good tech that does all this horrible work for me on tour
