i just bought a Tanglewood TW28 STR DLX CE INDIANA

i have no idea about electro-acoustic guitars. i was wondering if anyone has any good tips for getting the best tone out of them. I have a POD X3 so i can add effects if needed and it has a 3 band EQ (bass, mid, high) it also has a presence knob (which i cant really tell the difference when used tongue.gif)

ANYTHING would be great.

Thanks
Chris

Since it has its own active electronic I would suggest NOT to use "preamp" section of units like POD etc.
Tho adding some effects from POD like chorus, hall etc might sounds nice. smile.gif

But if you still cannot get sound you want without using EQs from POD,
then try turning it ON,dunno...

Not sure if I got it right, you have only presence knob on TW28,
no other EQ's pots or graphic?

If it does have, try setting EQs to sort of V shape, bass and high bit boosted, mids cut.

Also make balance between string gauge and the playabillity. For me I like not too thick acoustic strings. They have a more deeper, much nicer tone. Thick strings have ruff tone.

no need for effects but if you want a good sound you have to line it directly to the mixer with some reverb or delay
a not amp specialy tube

well, so far i have used one of the acoustic presets and added a little chorus to it. it sounds ok.

the acoustic itself has a 3 band EQ and a presence knob. I think i have managed to get a nice sound from it. i'll post a recording later.

thanks for the tips guy's biggrin.gif

ok, ive recorded my acoustic sound (without the pod, just straight in recording)

and there seems to be pops and clicks and stuff (its far from cliping in the cubase)
any idea how to get rid of those noises?

heres the recorded file...

Hey muntahunta,

Great playing there smile.gif , love the sound of an acoustic. I couldn't hear any pops or clicks as you said just sounded sweet to my ears, (your speakers / headphones damaged?)
