Plus Emo is being used wrongly as a music category as Emo started long ago and some real Emo bands include bands like Sunny Day Real Estate.

When I said fake metal I meant by spending more time on image than the actual music. That is fake anything. Metal-Core is not real metal and is a hybrid that is so keen on image I have no time for their music as they are sell outs to the record industry.

And Kiss invented the whole poser thing lol. Although they can get away with it because they are Kiss tongue.gif

I wouldnt say all Metalcore is 'bad' on the contrary I think some of it is quite good, then again I suppose it depends on your definition. tongue.gif

'emo' has kinda turned into a music category, i think it's a pointless word, it means emotional, and what music doesn't have some kind of emotion?
bands like MCR are classed as emo, they're awful IMO. with BFMV there is a bit of the 'emo' vibe in there, and that's what i don't like about a lot of their stuff, although some of it's quite good.

A7x have gone all pop recently, i heard their new album and was a little shocked, such a difference from their older stuff.

A7X are just trying to follow the current trend and that is why I hate them. Like all genres there are some good bands but most are current trend followers and nothing more.

Could'nt agree more on this one. As I watch these guys more and more, I'm starting to understand what owen said earlier. If just listening, I think there pretty tight. As I watch and listen, I'm starting to scratch my head a little. It is all about the money thes days. What ever the public is buying, bands sell out there style in order to sell more records.

Style this, style that... Image this, image that.. U guys tired of bands who´s trying to have an image?
I guess I´m tired of people complaining about what other people do. You don´t like it, don´t listen, simple as that.
You think a band is ugly as... Just listen to the music then, don´t watch videos. A band suck live, listen to the record. A band good live but not on record, go to the concert. To some degree I understand that music is feelings sort of and that you connect certain impressions or moments to certain songs in your life and that a bad live performance could ruin it a little. But in general I do not get people who start dislikes something they liked.
If a band has a good/great/ok song the song doesn´t become bad just because the band goes all Nazist/Rasist/emo/pop/grandmas favourites or whatever you may dislike. It might be a reason not to support the band like buying their things, going to concerts but does it make the song worse..? Could be if "the bad stuff" is really emotionally connected to you somehow. Dissing family somehow perhaps. But if it has to do with stuff like trying to look good, in fashion or just because general public likes it, that is a really silly reason to start disliking something. Music is the same.

Imagine a blind guy digging a record in the store "Hey, I like this. How much for the the cd? (10 dollars) Oh yeah, I can afford that.. How do the band look? (black hair calmed to the side) AHhh, crap... can´t buy this."

If I had a band and I was alone in charge of the music. We would probably change music style more often then on every record. I would probably change it from every track. Or on every track.
And now that I´m writing down some thoughts... I think the critics about bands selling out is a bit too rough sometimes. I´ve preformed before a couple of years ago when I was playing seriously and didn´t have my arm injury. And everything was fun to play live, jazz, pop, rock, metal.. Most fun for me was metal and it was not because it´s the most fun music to play. Actually it was a pain in the ass because songs were fast as hell and lack of rehearsals. one timed preformed same night as getting asked about the show without playing for 6 months. The reason it was most fun playing live because the audience liked it and there is people headbanging, going nuts. So if they fill shows, puts on a good show I totally understand people wanting to play music a lot of people like.
So bands want to make money, that´s fine. I go to a stupid boring job for less money, only for the money. And I know many people who does.
And I don´t think they make music they think suck. (of course bandmembers might have disagreements).

Not saying that you guys with statements and opinions different then what I just wrote are wrong or anything. It´s just my generall overall impression by reading forums and speaking with people.

Just a little anekdote... I´ve have been getting some records for my little sister. Mixed cd´s and such. And she´s only 9 years old. As I have understood kids nowadays follow a sort of trend. Now the newest idol-winner is the coolest, it´s good, listen to it. And then in a couple of months it´s bad. Nothing against the kids, they are like that.
But I don´t remember it being anything like that when I was young. In the Eurodisco time. I didn´t know anything about "new" songs when going to the store and listened thru a lot of records until I bought someone I liked.
I still like almost everything I listened too 15-20 years ago. Bassdrums lacking bass though.

I feel that development really disturbing. All the pressure on kids to be in a certain way. Yuck.. Kind of reminds me of the southpark episode "Stupid spoiled Wh*** " They kick ass
