Hey guys
I am going to buy a new Guitar for (mainly) Heavy Metal for arround 1000 Euros (~1500$). I definatley need a Floyd Rose Style bridge of higher quality in it and if possible 24 frets (not a must). I've checked some guitars out but I need more suggestions and comments on the ones I've already found.

http://www.thomann.de/de/dean_guitars_razo...5_explosion.htm
Dean Razorback V
+ 24 frets , hardshell case, looks, emg 81/85
- No original Floyd, not sure about the quality of Dean

http://www.thomann.de/de/jackson_rr24_rhoads_sw.htm
Jackson Rhandy Roads 24
+24 frets, Original Floyd,looks, emg 81
-No case/gigbag, Only 1 Pickup, Only volume knob

IMO this thing would not look good... gibson should stick with stopbar and tune-o-matic bridge

I already have a Les Paul so that's no option. I need some links to guitars in my price limit please.

I'd recommend the Alexi-600 over the jackson, it has a seymour duncan blackout pickup (active) and still only 1 volume knob, but it comes with a case, and is a bit bigger than the RR24. The alexi also comes with a case.

What do you need a tone control or a neck pickup for? You said yourself you play metal tongue.gif. My guitars might as well have one pickup

Hmm in my local guitar-store the alexi 600 is listed with an emg-hz humbucker instead of a seymour duncan and it does not come with a case though but still it's an awesome guitar and i will try this one also. THX!

If you get the Jackson or LTD, let us know how one pickup works out. I am thinking about getting the Aleox-600 also. wink.gif

Apparently this year's model on the Alexi 600 has a SD Blackout, the former one is the HZ. This month's guitar world has a picture of Laiho in an SD ad, so it's probably pretty recent.

If your looking into ESP models, Kirk Hammett's signature model is also something to look at.

Dean's licensed floyd rose trems are very stable, the only difference I can really tell between the lic. and original is the pop in arm, witch can be changed. That said, I usually stay away from signature models(even though Dime never played a Razor V), they are more expensive than they should be because some of the money payed goes to Dime's estate. But if you don't mind the price, Dean's higher end imports are sturdy and well made, they have a pretty good quality control, so the chances are very small that you'll get one that sucks.
But in the end it's all about YOUR preferance, Jacksons are radically different than Deans, they have much thinner necks and sound totally different. Go try em out, both are great companies, I'm sure you'll prefer one over the other if you get a chance to try them back to back.

Good luck! Just try to see through the rusty strings, bad intonation, and stupidly high action that tend to happen alot on guitar store guitars, remember that axes won't play to thier full potential unless they are set up well.
