Hi David:

can it be done, reasonably well? I am asking you because your country licks lesson (now on my to-do list) captures this a bit.

here is an example of what I am talking about, the pedal steel solo is at 1:45.

Good question!
It is possible, but I am not very good at it.
If you want to approach that kind of playing, I recommend that you listen to Albert Lee. He's great at that kind od stuff.
