At Christmas time I was at my mom's house and she has a new turntable(record player) with combo cd and cassette player.

For fun I played my kids some of mine and my brother's old records on the turntable. They were amazed they never saw a record player before. But I was immediately struck by how warm the records sounded with all the cracks and background hisses. I think we played a 44 year old Beatles record from older brother.

I have my old records but no turntable. I might go and buy a turntabble. In Ann Arbor, MI near where I live they have several vinyl record stores for used and new records. I miss all the old sounds and the art work of records.

Anyone else miss records or am I just too old?

Of course Kurt , I have the entire Pink Floyd collection(till the wall) on vinyl records , an uncle gave me that collection on my 18 birthday on 1994 , she bought it on a trip he made to europe on 1980 , and he kept it in perfect shape , I listen to those record once in a while , and they're awesome.

Wow. All the Pink Floyd Albums! To me a vinyl record and it's cover was like getting a book that you could listen to.

I used to read every word and there was more room for artwork. That was the fun of it. Some bands like the white Stripes issue new stuff on vinyl also.

I listened to a lot of my parents records when I was young and that was the first time I started actually listening to music...Its so great and I soo miss it..I just wish there were no CDs invented...There would be no piracy and you could have the pleasure of buying a big vinyl now and then wink.gif
