So I'm sitting here waiting for a date to call me. I'm getting hungry but I'm supposed to take her out to dinner and I don't want to eat. So I'm practicing some scales to pass the time... I wish she would call. lol. Anyhoo I'm learning the pentatonic A minor scale. Have it down pat where it starts at the 5th fret. Now I'm doing the next one up.

I also want to mention that when practicing this scale I like throwing a few bends in there. It sounds really nice and bluesy.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Made even lower by the fact he portrayed his date as too stupid to know how to use 'there' and 'their' correctly. wink.gif

No Duncan, the stupid one was me typing a quick response. Lets not make something out of nothing. I like to have fun and maybe, just maybe find a few new friends along the way. I wasn't going for a "low kick".

Aarggh, I hope you had fun on your date. I no I did. biggrin.gif

I was hoping that the wink at the end of my post would have made it clear I was just having a cheeky dig. Nothing offensive.

Well she didn't show up. She got a hold of me later and apologized, said she couldn't get a sitter for her son. Then said it would probably be better if I went to her house one night to watch a movie. You can imagine what went through my mind and that I wholeheartedly agreed. Now I wonder when this next one will be...

Yesterday at work I was cutting a bucket of onions (I'm a cook) and the knife slipped and cut my middle finger on my fretting hand. Took a good chunk out. Luckily for me it was on the side/back of my finger so I can still play if I take the bandage off. I also learned (later last night) that it's difficult to play after consuming many alcoholic beverages which have been brewed to distinction. But then again I was on an unfamiliar guitar (acoustic). The guy who owned the guitar used the same type of pick that I do though.
