Hello mates !!! first of all say THANKS MARCUS FOR THIS AWESOME LESSON !!!! yeah, it's one of my favourites wink.gif
I've been practicing this lesson during 2 or 3 weeks, and now I decided to recorded it and put it on youtube and Myspace (If Kris and Marcus agree of course)... it's really dificult and I know my playing is so far to be perfect but I'm happy with my improvement smile.gif

Ah, I may say that now I have pain in the wrist !!! and this video is the reason XD (it's not a big pain, but I prefer not to force and have a break for 1 or 2 days)

Let's go, that's the video :

Very nice!

I thought you scalloped your neck? Didn't look like it in the video. Maybe it was one of your other guitars you did it to.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Oh no that's the scalloped one !! but I need to scalloped more, because I did a thin one, so when I change strings again I will do it again. BTW it's really helpfull !!! I cannot play this bends without an scalloped guitar biggrin.gif

I have actually sent my strat for scalloping as well - after having tried Marcus' white one! biggrin.gif

There is no doubt that scalloping (unless you have a parker guitar or similar) gives numerous advanatges when soloing! smile.gif

yeah, I agree scalloped frets improve your vibrato and bends but I must say that IMHO opnion there is another thing that nobody coment... that's my experience, of course. I'm talking about the speed feeling... yeah, with a normal fretboard there are a mistake that we usually do, that is pressing too hard the strings. That's a horrible mistake because you lose speed and accuracity, but if you play with an scalloped neck if you press too hard you change the tune of the note, so you can know when you are playing wrong biggrin.gif

As I said before, that's my own experience. Does anybody think the same ???

If I press a string too hard, its changing the pitch, but I dont have scalopped fretboard. That's the case for both of my guitars (One Ibanez, one ESP)
Especially from the G to the high e (the thin strings) it's annoying, if I play something in that area of the fretboard it sounds like old socks :/ I have to learn to be nice to my fretboard wink.gif

Hm, maybe a scalloped fretboard just is more sensitive, I don't know, I never played a scalopped neck so far wink.gif
