Well you say melodic sweeps- you must first construct what you consider a melodic sequence of notes.
Take something as simple as twinkle twinkle little star. Play it in whatever key you choose- then harmonize the each note into a triad (major minor or diminished) Then instead of playing each note- you can sweep a triad up and down (im lying in bed right now guitarless but this actually does sound pretty cool lol  )It really doesnt have to be more complicated than that- then you can use that technique with your own melodies, or if you want a quick answer i remember hearing a MAB melodic sweeping sequnce that did rip- but i loved the melody and the way he choose which inversion of the arpeggio he'd use to create a downward melodic line- instead of just one shape moved up and down to fit the needs of the root note: Check this out- it wouldnt let me skip through, but the bit i spoke about starts at 1:25 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSNK6M6Ui2A enjoy  |
