Question About A Potential Injury

So, I've been having some problems with my left arm and the left part of my back for the last 3 months. It's sometimes been better and sometimes been worse, but it's always come back, and now I'm really tired of it.

It started with some pain in my back, and a soda like feeling in my arm, so I rested from the guitar for 2 weeks (this was back in december) and it got better. Then very soon after I started playing again, it got worse, so I barely played guitar for that month, and I went to see a physiotherapist, who said it was because of me having a weak back, and a slanting spine that made my shoulder blade kind of block some nerves, and that I could play guitar as much as I wanted, I just needed to get some muscles in my back.

Time goes, and the back et a bit better (or at least not any worse), but I start to feel more in the arm and in the left hand. After going to a naprapatition (if that even is a word, for you swedish people: naprapat) it got a bit better, at some points I didn't feel any pain.

The problem is, now, my back is a lot better (but still not perfect) but I get that soda like (I'm sorry that I can't describe it better) feeling and I feel I have a llot less power in my hand and and around my wrist, so I'm wondering if it's still the same problem as it was ebfore and if anyone has any tips at all, I would be extremely grateful. I know this isn't the best place to ask, but I still know that some of you has been through injuries, and any help I can get would be great. (And I just called the physiotherapist again, so I'm hoping for some help from there aswell.)

Anyways, if you feel you've got anything that could help, I'd be extremely grateful to hear that.

My friend had EXACTLY the same thing. He's been to a physio appointment every week for about 3 months and they work on his arm and back quite intensely to get the muscles there better and he plays guitar every day and he has noticed now that the pain has gone away entirely and isn't coming back. He finished his physio appointment a few weeks back and the pain has gone and the physio said that it is unlikely to come back.

Hmm, I got treatment like that 3 times and then he said he thought it would be better, but maybe I should just keep going and getting that.. The only problem is that it's amazingly expensive, but if it's the only way I guess it's worth it. I'll definetly consider it after I meed that physiotherapist again. Thanks a lot, it also feels good that I'm not the only one with this smile.gif

You need a really good Physio. We are at a sports university here at Loughborough University and they have some of the best physios in the country. You need an extended physio course over a month or two. 3 weeks won't solve anything. It isn't a minor problem but it is minor if you sort it out as otherwise it will just get worse.

I hope you sort it out.

Yeah, but it's hard to know who are good and who aren't. I'm gonna see what I do after I meed the physiotherapist the next time, wich will probably be in a month or something since the swedish health care system is the wait it is. sleep.gif

Beside going to therapy, change your habits a little, do some walking and sports. IT can mean a lot.

Yeah, I know, I started to work out a lot more (nothing super heavy, but I've been trying to excercise like 3 days a week), and it got better for a while, but now it's worse again. But yeah, excercise it something really important smile.gif

Off course excercise like walking or going to the gym can be useful but only with specific heatlh problems. Did you try doctor council to see what therapy is best suited for you?

Yeah, I got some excercises and stretches that I keep doing, I changed what chair I use when I sit at the computer and many things. I even changed how I sleep, but it's not getting better:/

I sure hope your not suggesting people here that excercise like walkin or going to the gym are useless if you don't ALREADY have some sort of an health problem, I sincerely hope I understood you incorrectly... dry.gif
