ive seen people mention the term breakdown alot, mainly in reference to the more heavy genres of metal, and i was wondering what it meant and what was involved in it. thanks!

I believe that it's a point in a song where the tempo either slows down considerably or there are a lot of rests and space inbetween the notes. Here's an example. Breaksown
