Posts: 2.700 Joined: 18-March 07 From: South Wales, UK	i checked out the song- id probably play "alternate" picking (though ultimate picking does sound super awesome) if you feel confortable with downstrokes only then do that- but remember that if you cant play it alternate then maybe it'd be worth practising for the sake of improving your technique. Not to be confused with economy picking, which I believe, is using a downstroke to travel below the string your currently on, and an upstroke to travel above your current string. As far as I know there is no such thing as "ultimate picking", it's just the word "alternate picking" misheard. No worries though. Many people confuse the word "alternate" picking with "alternative" picking (when alternative picking is actually just another word used by some major players for the economy picking technique).
