So here is a song im working on, looking to be part of my "Daughter Of The Universe" story, So far its just the guitars, but its still work in progress.

PS

Yeah i know the second solo is weird, I got stuck thinking of a some solos to use, so i just BS'ed it for that last solo (and yeah i know i botched that harmonic)

So let me you know what you think smile.gif

Do you know the part in Benighted before the solo where the whole song is kind of kicked up a notch? Right before it I mean, where the drums come in a little louder, etc.

I can hear that in this.. I mean after the silent part here perhaps just something subtle like adding a bassline or something but I can hear the need for something along those lines. I really like it though, cool stuff smile.gif

Hey UC.

I like the updates! Two things, one I wish the rain sound would either persist throughout the piece or at least fade out slower. Secondly, when the first solo kicks in and when the distorted guitars kick in, it happens very suddenly. Perhaps thats what you meant, but I feel like theres something missing, some kind of buildup or something.

Just my 2c, I think it sounds really good though cool.gif

I like the clean stuff very much, and to me the distortion part doesn't come too suddenly, I think it's cool smile.gif

A More progressed version from another recording, It went from about 3 minutes to close to 7.

This is still the demo, and im happy with the current structure, i need to write one more solo, (3:52 is where i would like to start the solo)

And there is a sudden transition from dist. to clean around 4:30 i need to fix, so anyway, let me know what you think of it smile.gif

EDIT
Wow, this was so supposed to not be another thread, i thought i was replying, Oh well laugh.gif
Shows how alert i am when i intend to reply and i make a thread.....Hmmm....

Very nice man. I really enjoyed that. I think that once you get a drum track and a bass line, the fast distorted section in the middle will be awesome. Like the intro with the rain and thunder and a strike of lightning at the end would be cool too!

Well Done! smile.gif

Very Maiden-ish in the intro chord progression. I like it.

Don't know if you want the hear the ideas that flew through my head when I listened to it. Maybe it will ruin your song idea but this is what I "heard".
I'd skip the 2:28 up to 2:55 and move straight into 2:56. Maybe let the clean part fade out and then BAM!

Btw the distorted guitar/amp sound like what's on the early Maiden albumts. Love that! laugh.gif So why not also add a solo with two guitars.. tongue.gif Or go all the way, change the key upwards for the solo, play two guitars, and make it three repeating chords wink.gif
