Actually it depends, sometimes i can play like 6 hours non-stoping or even more, and some times just an hour. I try to "force myself" to play 1 hour per day, but i don't really like the terme forcing myself, playing guitare should be a pleasure, non an obligation. But sometimes, i can spend 2 days without touching my guitar and i hate it (it always occur when i'm sleeping at my girlfriend's and sometimes when she comes to sleep at my home)

It really depends - too many life factors to watch out for so practicing just always seems to suffer sad.gif
Let's say from 2 to 6 - 3-4 hours is an average.

It varies.. when i'm not in the mood to play (it happens), then i dont bother forcing in any practice hours.
But on a normal basis i manage to squeeze in 2-5 hours a day.

By practice do you mean playing or actually practicing something? I mean like going over scales or trying to figure out the metronome, i would consider that practice, but learning a song or writing some of my own music would be more playing.. I usually play 3-6 hours a day, but for actual practice its more like 30 minutes to one hour... But lately ive been only writing my own music, ive filled up about 10 pages in a notebook of my own riffs and songs in the last 2 days.. Pinch harmonics out the ass.. cool.gif

1 hour a day I would say, and I feel like I'm doing some great progress! Not far away from nailing your extreme neoclassical now Muris smile.gif not at full speed of course...but anyway

I feel its important to point out to benifit any new guitarist not to be too concered with practicing long hours. smile.gif

When I first started I was worried I wasnt practicing 8 hours a day or something silly like that tongue.gif Quality practice is far more important than hours and hours of "messing about" or sloppy playing. smile.gif make sure your getting down what you need, and keep it clean and focused biggrin.gif

That's a good point Matt. Yesterday i practiced around 3 hours but after those 3 hours i was totally tired and i felt a huge improve in my AP - because those 3 hours i was practicing crazy stuff bing totally concentrated on what i was doing. So you're right! "Long" and "quality" doesn't mean the same smile.gif

In the last 2 weeks my practice has been broken up to maybe an hour per day average. Othervwise it's 2 hours average. Just practice, my time with the guitar is much longer than that tho.

Heres a good video of practicing time from Marty Friedman's point of view(Vid I think makes real sense):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRHInnT_J4Q

Well I have had times I've practiced for even 20 hours a day, but those were crazy and I didn't have any life at that moment. Now I practice aroun 4-6 h per day which means 2-3h electrical and 2-3h Classical.
