Hi

I walked in a local music store yesterday and saw this awsome Lespaul hanging on the wall. It´s used 2003 model and in perfect condition, not even a scratch in it and I got a brand new case with it because I think they lost the original case. I payed about 2800$ for it (yes guitars are very expensive here). But it´s worth it, I love the tone from this beast. I play through Marshall TSL122 and it screams at you, and the sustain lasts forever, you can go for a bite and it´s still singing when you come back like Nigel Tufnel said laugh.gif . The pickups are ceramic 496R and 500T perfect combo and they are super hot. This guitar has balls and I love everything about it, the 60´s neck is very slim and comfortible, totally a dream guitar. rolleyes.gif

Congrats!

In my search for a Les Paul I was blown away by the playability and sound of a couple of Les Paul Classics that I tried.

The 496/500 pick-ups are very hot, great for heavy rock, but warm enough for blues too.

Enjoy,

Howard

I've always wondered what the difference is between the LP Classic and the LP Standard?

Thanks all....

I was not much of a LesPaul man, but after trying this badboy out I love them. Takes a while to get used to it because I´m used to my SG that is the lightest guitar ever and the LP the heaviest. Great to have both. smile.gif

Differance between Standard and Classic is basically the pickups, but the Standard has Burstbuckers pups. Also the headstock is AA maple but the Classic just plain maple, and that makes the Standard a little bit higher priced than the Classic. But I think it does not make huge differance in playbillity or tone.

That's a pretty guitar. Did you know they make them now with ROBOTs on them. I can't remember what they call it though, if only there was a forum post to fill me in...

You want information about this? No problem, lemme inform you wink.gif What Gibson calls the "Robot Guitar" is a Les Paul that is equiped with the Tronical Powertune system. If you want to read more about this, check the Tronical page (www.tronical.com), to give you a brief overview, this system can store up to 6 different tunings for your guitar and by activating one of those tunings the guitar tunes ITSELF (!), and to do this it need about 2-5 seconds (!!!). And before you ask, yes, it works, perfectly fine, I already have this system on one of my guitars and soon I will get another one, it rules.
