I was wondering if this happens to anyone else... When I play guitar at home i can play all kinds of stuff perfect, but if i go out to guitar center and they hand me a guitar, i dont know what to play... I just stand there like hmmmm... It happened to me yesterday, i wanted to check out a pod and when the guy hooked it up and handed me the guitar i had no idea what to play... sad.gif

Well if your saying that you suck at guitar center I do too. People let their kids dick around with guitars people mess with them just to be a jerk. There's never a decently set up guitar within 100 feet of guitar center. But I still love guitar center wub.gif

Hey guys,

I´m from the UK but currently living in Ecaudor, South america. Bascially I am planning a trip to miami this fall, I have the intention to come back with at least two guitar!!! A ibanez S series like Herman li (Who is cool byw) LOL LOL laugh.gif and a American Fender Strat. I want to know what you guys think about the guitar center, We don´t really have anything like it in the UK. How big are these things? their prices seem ok but are they poorly set up guitars? do they actually stock a lot of models? do they stock multiple guitar of the same model, or do they give you the thrashed demo guitar lol

guitar center is like the wal-mart of guitar stores, man. around here, they pretty much only stock fender, gibson/epiphone, marshall, line6, crate, vox and peavey stuff.

all the guitars are usually poorly set-up, out of tune, and there's usually some ten-year old kid playing green day on some 2000 dollar gibson.

i'm not actually a big fan of guitar center-i prefer craigslist and used shops for buying gear.

+1

At least the people in my city aren't ignorant, but There's basically just a shop that sells low end crap for outrageous prices, another one full of jerks who won't even let you touch a guitar (unless you start looking at the $3000 Les Paul) blink.gif dry.gif and one very good one, that thankfully carries Ibanez and Fender. It just happens to be all the way across town though. mad.gif

I enjoy going to the local GC. The employees are knowledgeable enough and very helpful. I have been in a few times when there are some TOOLS just sitting around playing guitars like they are supposed to be performing for the rest of us. But it is rare and usually when the store is very busy. I also know, since I bought him a subscription, that we have one member who works there. Calling out UPSman! Tell us some funny stories about people playing the instruments in the store. What is the most played song or licks?

Yeah I Work at the Guitar Center in South Sprinfield, MO and there are some wierd people who come in and play
Stuff like Guns n Roses or AC/DC , They play it over and over....and suck at it. I, Being there day to day I learned to tune it out so its not as annoying to me but, to the other customers it can be a little funny yet annoying!
There is this guy who comes in like every other day and plays the drums as hard and loud as he can We call him BLASTBEAT and this Old guy comes in and rocks out Elvis and Buddy Holy stuff We call him POPS.
I enjoy working there plus The benefits are great too!!!

my trips to guitar center sometimes differ. Sometimes, I just come up with some sick riffs and just play it off metalhead style. Sometimes, I just suck especially when theres some 13 year old shredding all over the place.
