I bought a new guitar today! It's a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Flying V and it totally ROCKS!
I played about 7 diffrent guitars including Ibanez prestige RG's and Jackson Rhodes at the store and this one blew the rest away. It is black, equipped with Dave Mustaine Live Wire Pickups, has 24 jumbo frets and is perfectly balanced on a strap, which I see rarely on a Flying V. Give me some time and I will do a review with pics as soon as possible.

Woot! Welcome to the King V club! I love my DV8-R, I'd like to play one side by side with the dean and see what has changed. The LWs are great pickups, I think you'll really like them.

Sad News:
The toggle switch broke down during playing and I took the guitar back to the store to get it fixed and set up right away. They fixed the switch but when the guitar-tech adjusted the truss-rod it also broke!!! They said that they will order me another guitar but it would take almost a month until it arrived.

Good News:
Since i was pretty p***ed of by the quality of that guitar and the time I would have to wait, the store manager offered me a huge discount on an Ibanez Rg 550 20th anniversary, which is a strictly limited run that is built like the Rg's from about 20 years ago, including and Original Edge I Tremolo and the first Wizard Neck style. I went for that one because it is way better than a comparable Rg 2550 and I got it for the lowest possible price. Now I will do a review of this one...

Note:
I don't know if it was just my Dean Mustaine Signature that had production flaws like that or if it's Dean's Korean built quality that is just bad. Besides that it broke on 2 parts at the same time it was a kickass Metal guitar from looks, feel and sound.

Well, that's both sad and good smile.gif

I'd be pissed to, but if you got a good offer on that Ibanez I guess it's ok in a way..
I'd want the guitar you got now much more than the Dean so congratulations again smile.gif
What color is the Ibanez?
