As a beginner/intermediate player I would like to see a slower version of the complete solo or riffs lesson included with the backing tracks. I know the instructors provide a slow version with each video clip, but a slower version of the whole solo (with backing) would be a great help with timing issues.

Cheers

Hello Juan,
What I would like is an slower audio version of the complete solo (with backing) ie. just add the solo to one of the slower backing tracks. Then I can play along with that to resolve timing problems.

Cheers.

mmm, well, I think it's better to record a slow version of tha main video. Remember that you can use the guitarpro file and change the tempo, or if I record a slow video you can use it, isn't it ?? or do you think it's better a slow mp3 playing lesson with BT ??

I don't have GuitarPro. Sounds like a good idea to get it, and play lesson at a slower tempo.

Thanks, Juan.

If you feel that you can't afford Guitar Pro 5 you can get a program called TuxGuitar on this website: http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/download.html

The program is totally free and is available both for pc and mac. It reads and writes Guitar pro files and seems to work just fine. It doesn't have guitar pros practice tools so you will have to change the tempo manually on the songs you are practicing but other than that, you should be ready to rock.

Great idea - it can be solved with the guitarpro file.

Another option is for instructors to take the audio of the main video and slow it down in a sequencer software (all the ones I know of are capable of slowing down without changing pitch) - this should be done quickly and can then be uploaded as a backing track to the lesons.

Also - the link to the free software has been added to the lessons now (click the questionmark beside the guitarpro file) thanks! smile.gif

Great idea Kris .. maybe the sound quality will not be perfect when slowing down with a sequencer software, but it would give a guide when playing along the backing track. I remember to have had some difficulties sometimes. Playing at slower speed to the GP file was ok, but with the backing track at the same speed i was lost ..

yeah, it's a great program if you don't have the GP. BTW you can dowload a GuitarPro demo... I think you can change the tempo but remember NOT SAVING the file, 'cos with this demo you cannot save more than 24 compass (or 50 notes, I don't member hehe)
