Like a 'composing a solo 101' lesson, yea that'd be cool.

Well.. I don't think there is any easy way to start writing solos...

Start out small.. with simple licks , make them more complex, start peicing some together, the best way to learn how to write is to have experiance and learn other peoples material.. Look at how their solo is constructed and then take what you learned in their piece into your own playing..

I am pretty sure that Juan is the right person:D I keep him in mind as big creator biggrin.gif so he should be the right person smile.gif

But first of all.. take someones licks and make solo out of not-your licks - just learn how to connect licks together and then start with your own.. play with tones and notes... and one day, youll make it smile.gif dont hurry smile.gif

Not a bad idea at all. Little difficult since there are many types of solos, and harmonies can be quite different, but one in depth lesson could do the trick wink.gif

i pretty much improve the sh*t out of velvet revolver and guns-n-roses solos. i learn them, change it up a bit. the really change up any main licks, sometimes playing it kinda backwards. the just any other licks that are part of the original solo, i just change some notes. (but i still just write solos without using that way, thats just my favorite)

Good idea smile.gif

I think we would need several lesson for this though, one or two for each genre atleast.
For example, the solo construction for a metal song is usually quite different to how you would construct a jazz-solo.
