Nice review, man.
I'll admit that I've never listened to this band before, but after reading this I'm eager to check them out.

this album is cheesier than a Manowar Hail To England concert covered in cheese.

I dont see how though. In fact, i dont think there is nothing cheesy about it.

Why do you think so?

I find the whole concept cheesy, for me anyway. Start off in Star Spangled Banner played in guitar. When the Eagles Cry was also cheesy. The rest was just bland and boring. But trust me, I have put re uploaded this album in my ipod for more than 10 times and I still couldn't like it.

Ehh sorry, I meant my comment to be humorous, but I have to draw my line to Iced Earth. Tim Ripper Owens didn't really fit to Iced Earth in my ears so yea. He was good in Framing Armageddon though.

Iced Earth is one of my favourite bands, but I prefer the earlier albums, not because of Tim Owned, who is without any doubt a fantastic singer. In my opinon a album like the Glorius Burdon would have not worked with Matthew Barlow, but Barlow is for me the true Iced Earth singer, and its he who completes the 'typical' Iced Earth sound that I like.
I know, that's not about Ripper vs. Barlow. I like some of the songs of 'The Glorious Burden' for example 'Declaration Day' is awesome. But I am looking forward to the day when Barlow comes back.
I think 'THB' is a good variety, but its not a album I could listen to evereytime and say "wow, this is so amazing!"

It was nice to read your reaview, keep it up

best regards,
Skalde

Barlow is the definitive Iced Earth singer, and The Glorious Burden wouldnt be the same without Owens, But its still Iced Earth even without Barlow, As long as its Jon Schaffer, its Iced Earth smile.gif

By the way, you do know Barlow is back as the frontman for Iced Earth! smile.gif

I totally agree! It's really a cool idea to have songs about historical events. Especially the three songs (or: the long song wink.gif) about Gettysburg, Attila and Waterloo are cool. After listening to the Gettysburg trilogy and reading the lyrics I began to read more about the American civil war and the battle of Gettysburg. Until today the civil war is one of my favorite history events and I`m glad that I had the opportunity to learn more about it in my history study.

But "When the eagle" cries is definitly the weakest song on the album and really "cheesy".
