I just got two new pairs of strings as I am still planning to re-string my guitar. I wanted to try some pretty light strings, so I went with .08 .11 .14 .22 .30 .38 Now, are they going to be too thin and break easier? And will it have some sort of strain release on my neck and damage my guitar?

Well it will definitly give less pressure on the neck than the previous strings...Maybe you will need to adjust the neck a little after you put them on..They won't damage it though..About breaking , well in some theory yes but I'm sure they will work as all other strings for you..smile.gif

Ok, thanks, I went ahead and did it, I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out so far, exept I broke the two thinnest strings trying to tune, it. wink.gif I have one more pair and I don't want to mess this up, It would tune fine to start, then suddenlt it drops down a step or two, then when I get it back up there again it brakes. unsure.gif

EDIT: Would it matter if I made my b and e string .09 and .12 (One step thicker)

I have this strings and I don't have problems. I think since I'm using this thin strings I've never break one, and I love high bends and lot of whammy bars tricks

If you used heavier gauge before you must untighten the neck, because the truss rod in the neck is "used" to bigger tension, and when you put lighter string you could get some string buzz. Untight the truss rod a little (not too much!) with an allen key, and mark the place it was on before. Do this only if you experience any string buzzing, if not you don't have nothing to worry about. It will not damage your guitar.

I see what you mean about the string buzzing, and I can definetly tell it's there. I have no experience at all with it, so I think I'll just leave it, will it go away at all?
