Well it will definitly give less pressure on the neck than the previous strings...Maybe you will need to adjust the neck a little after you put them on..They won't damage it though..About breaking , well in some theory yes but I'm sure they will work as all other strings for you..

If you used heavier gauge before you must untighten the neck, because the truss rod in the neck is "used" to bigger tension, and when you put lighter string you could get some string buzz. Untight the truss rod a little (not too much!) with an allen key, and mark the place it was on before. Do this only if you experience any string buzzing, if not you don't have nothing to worry about. It will not damage your guitar.
