I've heard lots of good things about them and I actually tried to buy a 4x12 before but they wouldn't ship to europe. -------------------- My bands homepage

Maybe also do a custom cabinet, and load it with the speaker to your liking. Celestion VIntage 30, or Greenback for blues and jazz, and G12T75 or G12H for rock and metal

I see no reason to choose the Epi Valve Jr over the Blackheart really. The BH5H is the best sounding little amp I've ever heard. And with that settled I see no reason not to pick the Blackheart BH112 cab. They work wonders together Actually, I'm not so sure about that. And I can explain why. Two videos got me thinking of mixing and matching cabs. This one's an A/B comparison between the Valve Jr and the BH5H. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roIqsFF3MZI There's this high-end raspy sound that I don't like about the Blackheart. Then there's this video...the Epi and Blackheart cabs being driven by a Tiny Terror. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bng-zXiZfMY The same high-end rasp is still there which tells me that what I don't like about the Blackheart might be the cab instead of the amp itself. I'd really like to find a place that I can go and mix and match and play around with it and see how they sound. Looking into that too. -------------------- Guitars: ESP Semi-Hollow Eclipse, 1984 Ibanez Roadstar RS440, Peavey T-60, Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom
Amps: Peavey Transformer 112, Epiphone Valve Jr head with custom 2x12 cab Pedals: Boss TU-2, Budda Bud-Wah, Chuck Collins Harmonic Percolator clone |

Yeah,it'd be awesome to find place(maybe some music store) to try all those cabs.
Deal is,you have to try it with the same gear you're gonna use normally, take few friends with you, load all gear and invade some stores near by. -------------------- Youtube

I'll have time to do it over the weekend maybe. Will see. The nice thing is that I really don't need any help. More gear means I have more buttons and knobs to distract me when I'm practicing. A guitar or two and a distortion pedal arenlt hard to carry around. Ohh,that's fine then my mistake. I thought you were more like gear efxs guy, using bunch of stuff,my bad. -------------------- Youtube

Thats good thinking man! If you think new gear is going to distract you from practicing than you should not buy it

I'd really like to find a place that I can go and mix and match and play around with it and see how they sound. Looking into that too. I won't tell you what sound you prefer and I'm not trying to convince you. Best thing would be to cross test heads and cabs yourself ofc. I'm in no way an expert, but I do know what *I* like and don't like. I just want to point out something I noticed from the videos. He talks about Epi having a warmer sound. I would say it sounds "muddier" or like it's in a can or something. I do have problems with putting words to how something sounds though so it could be me misinterpreting "warm". To me the Blackheart is "clearer" and "warmer". The rasp you are talking about I can't hear in my equipment but I might be listening for the wrong thing. About the head though I was surprised to hear him say that the tone controls on the Blackheart was useless. While comparing with a head without tone controls? The tone range was wider than what I've expected after trying out other amps and one of the things I appriciate on the BH. And the volume headroom is to low on the BH? Oooh no, it delivers. It's loud. That made me wonder a bit about this guy. Either something is wrong in that video, or my sound preferences differs lightyears from his. -------------------- Schecter C1 Hellraiser EMG 81/85, replaced with JB/Jazz (SH4/SH2n) w. coilsplit Schecter Revenger HB-105, replaced with EMG 81/85 Stratocaster Deluxe Players Noiseless Ibanez 2550z Blackstar HT5H, Blackheart BH5H w.
