Looks alright to me condicering the bands I recognise, I'm guessing some - like Feeder - is for the younger audience then laugh.gif I never heard of em.
The ones for me would be Free, Lynyrd Skynyrd, metallica etc ... but are you closing with Papa Roach? Could work if the taps go busy all night wink.gif

Sounds like a cool idea to go from acoustic and adding the band in Keep on Rocking. biggrin.gif

Wish I could be there to cheer wink.gif

Ah, I thought that was extra in case you get called back in.

But I of course, in a british pub there's no such things as not being called back in ;-)

well the bands are well known but some of the track choices are a little obscure - Having done a lot of pub gigs be careful not to over-indulge in the tracks you want to hear... remember you are playing to drunk idiots most of the time, so they'll want something they can sing along to. So in all I would say go for more well known tracks, and although you may know them, most people will not as they may not be an avid follower of the band you chose to cover... best to play it safe if you want to get regular gigs.
I worked for an agency when I lived in London and they actually give you a long list of tracks you can choose from... and you have to stick to that list.
Those bars were walkabout and o'neils - so pretty big pubs in the UK and those agents know their stuff when it comes to choosing the right material.
The only drawback is that you may end up playing some songs that you wouldn't normally choose... but remember you are catering for the masses in a pub gig.

all the best,
nick

yeah depends on the pub Bogdan - if you play in one of the big chain bars over here you play at least 30 songs.... usually 2 45 minute sets

in weddings I have played for 3-4 hours!
my record gig was in a hotel and it lasted 5 hours! hardly any breaks - just me and a saxophone player!

It's so true. For acoustic, the Boxer and Those were the days - everybody knows them smile.gif

Worst one for me, the only song where I made the vocals (and I hate to sing since I suck), had to play it THREE times in a night. Where of two times in a row and the next a bit later. You're my heart your my soul, when Modern Talking returned in the mid 90's.

Black Crows, hard to handle always works. A couple of ZZ top... no matter how drunk the audience are they can shout "sharp dressed man" wink.gif Rolling stones. People like Donna Summer, hot stuff.
...I'm making a new thread on what pub gig songs work.

An intresting set with plenty of key variations.

Did you know all the songs or had to read the chords?

well when i first got that gig they called me a day before because their guitarist had let them down - I spent all day practicing and managed to learn them all in time for the gig - I don't like having charts on those gigs because it looks a bit amateur and you cant really put on a good performance.

I find the more songs you learn the quicker you learn them.... it helps to have good systems to let you remember them effectively in this situation i.e. roman numerals etc....
like I vi ii V etc,

Pretty amazing task!
I don't think I could learn +25 songs in a single day!
