it reminds me alot of my old guitar sound.. i was using a Squire as my very first guitar and no matter what i did amp wise it had this horribly squeeky sound ( sort of like in your recording) I blaime it on gear because as soon as i got a new guitar it got a whole lot better smile.gif i blaime the bad sound ( not the playing smile.gif the playing was nice and clean which is the way it should be even if its simple and slow smile.gif ) on recording stuff and guitar or amp maybe.. but id like other opinions.. i know that new gear seemed to solve my tone problem ( i still hate my tone ) but its better smile.gif

I would suggest your best bet is to take your guitar into some music stores and try out some different amps in the price range you want to spend. You already know what your current setup sounds like so you can tell which amp specifically improves your sound.

While you're there, try out some other guitars as well - if you take yours with you, you can A-B them side-by-side.

I wouldn't rush into anything, and I sure wouldn't buy without trying first. It's too much money.

Good luck in your quest for better tone.

Are you using the overdrive chanel on the MG? I have a MG15DFX and the overdrive channel sounds like muddy garbage with nodecent highs for solo playing. Pick up even a cheap distortion stompbox and you'll see a world of differece. I bought a behringer um300 which was 26 euro andeven though it aint the greatest pedal i the world if you mess with the eq you can get some pretty mean sounds out of the MG, saved me from forkin out for a expensive amp before I get the experience to pick the one thats just right.

And if your willing to, pick up a boss stombox instead like a DS-1 or a Metalzone, which cost a bit more, even if you do buy a new amp, chances are you'll still use them!

I think a Spider or a VOX modeling amp with a 12 ince speaker will help you to find lots of fun sounds to use.

With sounds you like, playing will be a lot more fun too.

It won't make you a better player immediately but maybe make practicing funnier. If you buy a great sounding tube amp, even spend everything you've got on a Mesa Boogie you're still a beginner and through the Mesa you'll still sound beginner.

So I'd suggest a little better amp for starters (or a POD for practicing with headphones if you don't need to practice with a band).
I don't think you need to go for a tube amp just yet.

I think you're handling the playing quite well. String damping is good, I think the picking is alternate the way it should be. But your bends are way off. Don't hurry, bend to the point you wanna reach, stay for a second or two. Don't rush it and end up going too short or too far.

In short, I suggest to get a modeling amp with a 12 inch speaker - then practice your bends ;-)

sounds and what i'm wanna know{mine main question} do you thing if i'm be record exacly same stuff with Diferent AMP do i'm can avoid those squeaky sound and the record be sound better??? or The main problem (talking just abouth the squeaky sound} so the problem is my playing an any Amp not help me???

I'm not sure about the squeeky sound that you're refering to. With a tube amp it's possible you'd get other difficulties to match since they are more dynamic in tone.

About the amps you suggest I'm curious about the Fander Champ but I never heard it. The Vox valvetronic would be good I belive, it's got a 12 inch speaker and people seem to like it here.

I would suggest a stomp box, and going to get your guitar set-up by a professional guitar tech.

I suggest a stomp box because on most small amps the distortion channel channel sounds like hell (actually i think most solid state amps's distortion sounds bad...not to mention smaller/cheaper amps. And yes there are a couple better ones likes line6 and vox amps...yada yada).

I would recommend the guitar set up because the tech will adjust everything, intonation, action, pick-up height so it's optimal for whatever music you want to play. And it's much cheaper than you might think, I got my old one setup (even though I thought I knew what I was doing before) for $30 CDN....well worth it! It played and sounded much better.

Other than that....most of your tone is in your fingers. Slash would still sound like Slash playing through my equipment, with surprisingly little difference in tone...or not as much as you might think. Keep practicing man, for 6 months, your doing good. The tone will come. I played forever (like 4 years) before it happened to me....one day just I realized I had my own sound. Like I say, it takes a while, but when it happens...it happens quick. wink.gif

well this is only my personnal opinion, BUT:
i dont think you should go for an expensive guitar for now... you know, ive been playing for about 5 years and i still play with a bronze BC rich warlock, wich is in the same price range of the viper 50, and my BC still do the job, i dont think ill upgrade it this year
i think you should get yourself a good distortion pedal and stick with your marshall mg

(thats what i did with my fender frontman 15r, i bough a boss ds 1 and a digitech grunge distortion to get better sounds, instead of buying a new amp right away wink.gif )

by the way your playing is good, i wasnt near to your talent when i was playing for 6 month laugh.gif
