Start with the easiest song just to get warm. Half way through it, you'll be fine and not so nervous any more.
Good luck!

If possible invite a few friends over to your band practices before the band competition to get used to people watching you.

Be sure to take atleast 5 minutes warmup with the guitar before going on stage. Id recommend watching Marcus Siepens lesson. It really helps alot.

try all members of your band to be so closed thats will help you .and play what you feel and dont look to the
people first song after that when you feel the people happy then take to them .i think it will be ok .goodluck

Just relax , hang out with your friends, possibly girlfriend smile.gif Be sure to prepare songs you are going to play at home and when on stage don't worry about anything just focus on your playing..If you make a mistake go over it because no one will notice anyway and it may distract you if you pay too much attention to it..

As Bogdan Radovic said don't worry about making a mistake just move on. 99% of the time the crowd won't even notice.

The biggest thing is just have fun. Your not playing at gunpoint. People who are there to see you play are there to have a good time as well so just have fun with them.

And since this is your first time its hard to say what your reaction to it will be. I have played in front of 15,000 people before and it didnt bother me one bit after the first song started.

On the other side of it i get nervous as hell and fumble all over the place playing in front of my vid camera with noone else around. Its weird to me...hopefully i will shed that fear after some time heh.

Daniel

The first show is always the most terrifying.
But like the others have said, after the first song starts, the nervousness will start to dissapear smile.gif

I'm playing a gig tonight to. No my first though. My advice is to enjoy it. And come on, it's your first gig so everything won't be perfect anyway. Have fun, and then afterwards try to think of what you could've done better. But just enjoy the show.

Yeah man, even if your guitar string snaps or your guitar falls off you, just pretend the string is there and the guitar is still in your hands and wave your hands in the air. The audience will never notice it. laugh.gif
