Thanks for your post Joakim.
I'm honnored that you find my lessons interesting.
There are several things that I would suggest here.
First of all, keep doing what you are doing with the metronome. That's a great way to improve no matter what level you are at.
Also, what I found extremely useful is to plan your practice sessions.
Instead of sitting and startingb to workout without a plan, write down on paper what you will work on.
Keep track on paper of your tempo and make sure that you are playing at a comfortable speed without sounding sloppy.
I know how frustrating it can be to play the same thing at slow speed, but that's the best way I found to "program" your fingers to play the right thing.
I reme`mber that I hated that advice: "`practice slowly"...
But it really works.
As for all new techniques, sweep is difficult at first. Just when you learned how to play your first bar chord. But it gets easyer and easyer. Just work slowly and analize your playing to eliminate all unnecessary movements.
Analizing your fingers and eliminating all superfluous movements is a very important aspect of practicing.
I hope this inspires you to reach your goals.
Let me know if I can help in any way.
Truely yours,
David
