Welcome smile.gif

Glad you decided to pick up the guitar!

My advice would be to check out the beginner kick-off here:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/beginner-...eo-lessons1.htm

Another piece of advice would be to ask as many questions as you can on the forum!
Anything you need help with, we're more than happy to help smile.gif

Will it be much of a handicap missing a string when trying to learn how to play?

Hey welcome Michael, take DeepRoots advice and start with the beginner kick off.
Once you feel comfortable with those 6 lessons, move on to some of the 101's. Remeber this is
a long process so take your time and move at your own pace. smile.gif

Welcome to GMC. I can't quite picture the problem you are describing. A little more info might help. Anyway, you have found a great place to begin your guitar journey. Good luck.

I think that's the saddles you're talking about (and you really need that part). Normally I think you buy saddles in a pack of six, but go talk to your guitar store and I'm sure they can help you out.
