remove the back plate and adjust the spring tensioner inside, quite easy to do, I also had to loosen the screws in front of the saddles a little on mine to allow the extra movement smile.gif

It does not need 3mm, 2mm are a good way to go imo. I like to make a float jsut big enough to pitch the strings to a whole step unitl it reaches wood.

My strat came with the trem floating like 5mm off the body.. I didnt like it because if I played a not and then did a bend on top it would make the pitch go higher on the sustained note from the extra tension. Are there any advantages of having a floating bridge?

Hey,

Ill try doing this, but will the intonation have to be set again?
and one more thing, will it result in excess buzzing?

The back of the strat is basically the same as the back of an Floyd rose floating trem. big block of metal, and 2-5 springs hooked up to it, and the other end hooked up to screws that are screwed into the guitars body.
