Hey guys, I noticed there were alot of topics with similar topics: "What should I learn next?" "I just started playing the guitar, what should I start with?" "I learned much, how can I further challenge myself?"

So than it hit me, why not have a stickied thread in which members, seniors and instructors (basictly everyone tongue.gif) post practicing plan suggestions? you could post a very specified plan, for example a "Pure Alternate Picking" plan, or you can cover a broader topic, for example a "Get In The Blues" plan, and also instructors could possibly make a plan based solely on their own lessons, making it somewhat similar to the experience of having a private teacher!

I'll post some example plans later on to give you a "live" example of what I have in mind, but meanwhile let me know what you think about this idea. smile.gif

Edit: Oh and the plan doesn't have to contain only lessons, it could contain suggestions such as :"Record a progression of C D A and try improvising over it using the C major scale", basicly it could contain anything you think is necessery, from small suggestions to listening suggestions.

sounds very interesting, sounds like you are meaning different courses. I like it, it would be fun if Kris could make a page with different courses, like you said, 'get in the blues etc'. I think also it would be fun if we could have lessons plans in style: Like, Mick thomson is a very fast player, thats why we are practcing a lot of scale work....etc.

I definitely think it's a good idea. It would create a more specific plan of attack on any one technique or multple techniques for that matter. I would even like to see sticky's on each technique, where instructors and members could offer recomendations on lessons regarding that category and helpful tips that have pushed them beyond there plateau.

Good idea Iluha! smile.gif

Well at first I thought this could be a great suggestion for a sub-board, because there's too many stuff to cover.. but there's already so many sub-boards that I don't know if it's such a good idea to add another one =p I guess it's up to Kris and Andrew wink.gif

Wow, telepathy at its best!

We are already working on this, keep your eyes peeled for an announcement in the next few days!

Of course this sort of thing lives and breathes through input from all of you guys, so I hope we can count on you to help gather a great selection of lesson plans!

To avoid confusion, please keep your lesson plans for the official thread, we'll have Iluha help out with that as well if he is up for it!
