Well.. I got offered a job yesterday to work at this music store part time. smile.gif

Cool cool stuff, so I'll be working two jobs this summer and should get around $3000 saved.. And me being stupid will want to put it twoard guitar stuff. I have two more summers to save up money for college. So might as well get a nice rig while I can smile.gif.

I just got this..

Well, a pair of Event or KRK studio-monitors should do the trick smile.gif
And a good DAW, as well as Guitar Rig 3 or a similar program if your amp doesn't have a line-out for recording smile.gif

Save money on the DAW and get Reaper - then put the extra money towards better monitors - audiopaal mentioned a couple of great options.

Also, if you want to make backing tracks you will need some money for VSTs - at the least you will want something fro Drums, like EZ Drummer, and probably a Bass VST like broomstick bass or Trilogy.

Oh yes, like Andrew said; Trilogy and EZ Drummer are the best choices out there for making backingtracks smile.gif
That's what I use tongue.gif

Thinking about upgrading to DFH Superior (for drums), but we'll see smile.gif

I have that same M-Audio interface, I think you'll be very happy with it.

I would also get some good headphones, I prefer recording with my Shure in ear monitors and only mix on regular monitors.

You need good monitors, a good set of headphones, and MIDI keyboard controller maybe.
