Wow! This guy is good! Off the subject a bit man but I think that this guy could rip it up on just about any combonation. I would like to hear what Muris thinks about him.

The tone could be digital though, what do you guys think?

and the one oziel plays is a RG350DX

So i dont know if the change will be good or bad for me. Should i get his guitar or another?

The guitar you have, should be sufficient enough to do the kind of stuff he does on it, the only real difference is that his has a Floyd Rose, other than that the 2 are very similar! As for his effects, live I know he uses Lam Amplifiers and has a very simple pedalboard consisting of overdrive/distortion, wah-wah, chorus etc, but for all the studio stuff he uses a Line 6 Pod XT..... the kidney bean one that Marcus L has. If you have one of those, or something similar like a Boss GT8 or Zoom G9.2tt it shouldnt be too difficult to dial up a sound similar.

If your only playing the one show with this song, I would buy gear that you want to have, and make it sound similar.... not buy the gear he is using just for one gig!!

Remember....... 95% of a guitarists tone is in his fingers!!

IMHO, I don't think the two guitars are that much apart. Both are low to mid priced Ibanez's.
I think it's all in technique and we don't know if his guitar has been modified and also what he is
playing through. The Ibanez he is playing with in "Rebirth Angra" Looks to have custom p/up's
and the frets look worked to me as well.

He has at least one RG350 that has scalloped frets, not sure if all have scallops but one definitely has, you can tell this on most video's but most noticably on the live version of Isabella at Guitar Expo or something!! Im sure he has more than one RG350 as one of them has different pickups to the others, the neck position on one of them has a zebra cover!!

But I think skennington hit the nail on the head with regards to the guitars, very similar!!

Good luck with your show,
Hope you tear it up....
Iain!!

for neoclassical stuff you can use lots of different gear, it all depends on your price range!! For guitars it all depends, I have strats that work really well for neo-classical (white with maple neck like malmsteen's and marcus' wink.gif ) but the guitar I have that I keep coming back to is a cheap Ibanez, its an RG350MDX in Black, with a Maple Neck and Black Sharktooth inlays. Its a fantastic guitar and cost around £300($550) But anything pretty much will work, Im currently in the process of buying a Gibson Les Paul thanks to a chat I had with Marcus Siepen and after playing a few this afternoon those would work really well also. Its all about what you feel comfortable with and what feels good when you play it.

As for effects, if your on a limited budget you could get a multi-effects processor, the leading products are the Boss GT8, although the GT10 has just come out!! The Line 6 gear is really good also, and Zoom are making some nice pedals at the moment. If your using a multi effects it doesnt really matter too much what kind of amp your running, Im running a Roland JC120 Jazz Chorus Amp with a Line 6 Pod XT Live, but am looking into getting either Boss GT8 or 10.

No, the Boss and most of the Line 6 stuff is a "multi-effect" its basically every effect/sound you can think of stored in a tiny little box and the settings you dial in affects the sound you hear. You can also download "patches" if you own a Line 6 Pod and put them into your effects, i know Marcus often post's his patches on GMC for members to download.

You still need an "output" whether it be an amplifier, just a speaker or even a computer/hi-fi. With my Line 6 Pod i have plugged into my brother's cd player in his car before and sat in the back seat and just played with the sound coming out of the car's speakers!! Basically the chain goes:

Guitar ------- Multi-Effect ------- Output ( amplifier, speaker, hi-fi, computer, headphones)

The great thing with most modern multi-effects is you can plug into your computer and record straight away, for example the new Zoom pedals come with a free version of Cubase so you can easily record your own music at home!!

This guy is awsome! Wow biggrin.gif
You could get that a sound like that with a POD, but I think most of the tone is in his fingers.

Marshall make great amps, but $1000 should get you a really good amp..depends what you want it for, if your going to be playing a lot of gigs then you could get a half stack for your money, or if not you could get a killer combo!! I used to use a Marshall AVT275 combo which was really good. As for half stacks you can get an AVT half stack with either a 50w head or a 150w head. Peavey make some nice heads, the 6505 is nice and sounds great through a Marshall 1960 cab!!

I am quite impressed about Ozielzinho. I did not know him before.
Dali Brasil!

About gear, take your time to learn more about it before spending your money. Use the gear forum here and test things as much as possible.
Make constant trips to guitar shops. Ask a lot, test, don't buy first time wink.gif
