Hey everyone! So i went to GC today and i picked up this guitar http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dean-Razorback...870-i1328231.gc and i felt at home with it! The sound from the neck pickup was face melting, and the bridge pick up was so aggressive. I even got a comment on my playing from someone there! (lol it means a lot to some one who has only been playing about a year). So i was wondering, do you guys think i should buy this guitar? or wait and save my money. Oh and also keep in mind that i have a 5 week summer program at Berklee soon, so i was thinking it would help me then but i duno.

Thanks everyone!
Feel free to suggest other guitars too.

The thing about being really stupid, is that there are a zillion ways to be a moron. There are usually several ways to be intelligent, given a situation, but it is a small finite number. But there are always a zillion ways to be to blithering idiot. So finding a new way to have the intellect of an artichoke is nothing to be proud of really, it is easy to do.

What's your style, what kind of tone are you after? Dean makes good guitars but without knowing what kind of music you like it's hard to say. Man, your going to Berklee, my suggestion would be to get yourself a Epi LP that has good playability for all styles, something you will need for school. smile.gif

If you've tried a lot of guitars and this one feels right I say go for it. Why wait? But then again, try out a few different ones. go back and forth between them, go home, think about it for a few days and then go try em again. That will prevent you from getting "carried away by the moment."

I agree with skennington, something more universal and playable would be maybe better like maybe an Ibanez or Epi. This guitar looks cool, but it is little unpractical for practice and carrying.

THat 7 string is cool, but since this is gonna be your school practice guitar I still recommend 6 string with a decent sound and decent quality hardware to it. Edge III is decent, those pickups are decent, and the whole guitar is generally very decent looking. Since you gonna practice a lot on it, I suggest the RGR320EX.

I duno ive never been a gibson/fender guy haha

But thanks for the suggestion!

Okay so update guys. i went to guitar stores to today and i found this,
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dean-Dime-O-Fl...370-i1150879.gc
But bare with me! haha
I found it at 499.99!! no flaws. The only reason its so cheap is that the specific guitar center I went to thats their last one/last shipment, so they are trying to sell it. The paint job is a bit eh, but i could get it painted black possibly by a friend who does that kinda stuff for free! Its extremely comfortable to sit with as well believe it or not. So tell me what you guys think! ^^

And again, thanks so much every one!

Thats a good price man and it is your decision, personally I think you might grow tired of the shape. Looks cool and all but but you got to think about practical purpose at this point. Your going to be carrying your guitar quite a bit and shapes like that can get damaged easily.

Heres my recomendation...... (I want one of these). Read into it. It's got a pickup in the neck similar to a Piezo also with stereo output. You can play acoustic on it! They call it a NanoMag.

Whoa dude thats sick but a little outta my price range hahah (tell me how it is when you get it though smile.gif ),
Okay so now i need help on one more thing, The parents haha. So Ive decided on the guitar that Ivan recommended, The Ibanez RGR320EX http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-RGR320E...359-i1172556.gc
Im gonna try to out a couple more time before i decide but yeah.
So the problem is, is that my parents think that in a couple of months i will out grow this guitar(in terms of skill). I find this hard to believe cause it seems like a great guitar, that if anything i would change the pick ups maybe but thats it. How do you guys think i can convince them it will be a lasting guitar, or Do you guys think it even is a lasting guitar?
Thanks!!

$550 for the RG and $699 for the Epi and my parents think I will outgrow the RG skill wise. Hum......, I know what I would do. Try and get the extra $150 out of them man!. No, seriously go to GC and if you have a Sam Ash near buy and sit down and play the guitars. Find what feels good to YOU and go from there. Start with the absolute max they want to spend and make sure they keep in mind that they won't have to spring for another guitar a year down the road if you make a good choice the first time.

Gear is addicting though so you'll prolly want something different anyway. tongue.gif
Good luck man!
