I got the exact same studiomodel as Gabriel, and i think the chrome looks cooler on it. Gold is so flashy wink.gif But i guess it's a matter of preference.

It's not unusal that the gold layer wears off in time unless it's high quality. Looks nice in the beginning but after a year it doesn't.


Unless it's solid gold bridge, machine heads, frets and so forth... *drools*

I prefer chrome, as you say, more durable.

That being said, I have a Gibson Studio with gold, I believe it is 6 years old. I bought it used. Gold hardware looks good as new.

My Studio might be one of the few that I prefer the look of gold on, it has are real special AAA top, coffee flame, very nice flame. As you can imagine, gold would go with that.

on an ebony, chrome for sure. i always liked the ebony finish. like a piano.

My LP has chrome as well, and I like it a lot better. Never really been a big fan of Gold to be honest. Not my taste I guess.
