His main goal is to be top 10 in gtr-idol and people keep leaving comments saying how awesome he is......if he gets top 10 in guitar idol I will give up playing guitar for ever.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wbde-Atf1U...feature=related Please restore some faith in guitarists, my opinion is that he is trying to hard and needs to stop being so annoying, sit down, work on his phrasing and vibrato and stop trying to play everything fast.......he really is terrible IMO but with all these comments about him being the next satriani I am starting to think I am becoming the worlds first grumpy old 23 year old!! However, I really like his composition for Guitar Idol, some pretty cool melodies in there. In my mind GMC was about encouraging people in the learning to help them keep the enthusiasm and evolve. I never liked the covers of that song to begin with though, its the epitome of tasteless guitar showoffness. Not necessarily even the hardest thing to play, just about the cheesiest thing you can come up with while saying "hey look at me, I can play guitar". His playing is ok, but I hate arrogant people like that, his faces just seem so fake to me. Feeling your music is much more than making faces like you are, it shows in your playing aswell, I can tell there is feeling in Gilmour, Muris, or Walliman's playing without looking at them. He just seemed like he was concentrating on making faces for the camera so people think he has feeling. I would do my best to help him. I understand that some of his melodies are well done, especially for such a young age. I was more annoyed by how people build him up to be some kind of super guitarist, if you look at his first video and then that video he has gotten to be more and more up himself, and has developed arrogance that even goes beyond Ted Nugent Muris, or Marcus could outplay almost anyone on the planet, yet they don't adopt cheesy smurf smiles and try to look like King Dong. They let the playing do the talking........but if they did act like gimp's in their video's I could understand it......but I think you should let your guitar playing do the talking, have fun with it and show your having fun....an ideal example is gustavo guerra, you can see how much fun he has playing guitar and is a killer guitarist, yet this carlo boy is a poor guitarist and instead of posting vids and seeing if any constructive criticism comes back, he tries to show off which I hate. The tapping thing at 1:11 really gets my blood boiling, I just wish I could reach into the computer screen with a plastic spoon and scoop his still beating heart out of his chest and show it to him before he dies!!
