how should i go about learning this song?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1xzs6tBfDE

It has lots of sweeping, tapping, and 16th triplets

I am currently at the point where i can play canon rock with somewhat decent sweeps

Well how well can you play those techniques. If your new to them you may want to wait a while until your good enough at them then can work them up to speed. Sweeping may take a while if you havent got the feeling to it down. So basically get your techniques down and work up that metrnome.

It is hard for me to give a specific answer - I would have to sit down and try to transcribe with this guitarist is doing (it was hard to see in the video).

However if you can find a tab of a solo/video that you like - an easy approach is to just isolate a section you are having problems with and repeat it to a metronome. However - if you are completely new to the technique - I would suggest you first try to find a lesson covering that technique. So that you get the basics right - often finding a good quality video where you clearly can see the hand movements will be enough.

I hope it helps! smile.gif
