Hello
I was not sure where to post this topic
I just went on the lessons section to play a few melodies with the backing tracks and i saw GMC has combined the backing track and the video player together...??

Is it possible to have the old version back, where the backing track opens up in the new window?

I am requesting this as internet is a problem where i live . So after learning the lesson i just play over the backing track instead of streaming the whole video again.

So my humble request to Kris, if he can change it back to the original form.

Cheers rolleyes.gif cool.gif

you dont have to stream over the media player over and over again if you wanna listen to the backing track. You just simply pause the video (not the backing track) and click play on the backing track as many times as you like.

Hope this will help you, cheers smile.gif

Yes, i know that... the problem is with the download limit, we have download limits over here... so even after pausing the video it will get dowloaded/streamed ......

True, pausing the video doesn't have any influence on the streaming, it will continue in the back.

I understand what he means. The video loads up regardless of whether it is paused or not and where he is there is a limit on downloads so you can only use a certain amount each month. If you go over that your connection is capped. Before he used to only need to stream backing track but now he needs to stream both video and backing track which is a lot more bandwidth and so he may have his internet capped.

For different resons, I would like the old way as well as the new way. Cos with the new way it looks better, theres a metronome and a loop, and you don't need to have so many windows open. But with the old way if you just wanted the backing track from a lesson you could just open up a tiny window and then leave the lesson. I think it's quicker to load too but I'm not sure.

Btw I do like the new way and thanks for doing it its just i would like to be able to open backing tracks in a new window as well. smile.gif

Well I guess before you would just open up the lesson , video starts to stream , you hit the backings window and close the parent one with the lesson ? Thats a little bit of work wink.gif I never thought it that way, and this new way is in my case same as before (but better because of new features)..

Well, in your special case...why dont you open up 2 windows. Both will be of the same lesson, one with video, one with backing. Switching between windows wouldnt be so much of a problem.

Just a thought

I'd ask Kris in his forum maybe and explain your problem as I'm sure it's easy to have backing tracks only that you need without video as well as having the new style.
