you said that you use SM58 mic for recording a guitar amp sound ! i'm not sure, but i think SM 58 is for vocal records and SM 57 is for instruments

First of all, sorry for the confusion, second hmm... I'm not very good with mic's, but the wiki just gives an example. If you think it's btter to use the SM 57, go ahead and use that one. This was just an example of a usable Mic.

Sorry biggrin.gif

I`m struggling to grade this one to be honest Kaz, sure you`ve added the pictures but the whole article hasnt been written by you, its a direct copy n paste from Tony Miro`s post in the recording and mixing class`s.

This is without doubt a fantastic article and totally worthy of being put into the Wiki bt I`m not sure as a competition entry it should be allowed, I`d have preffered you to have used Tony`s post as part research, research mic ing and microphones and put it all into your own words, maybe just some quotes from Tony.

I`ll leave this one for Andrew to decide upon.

This would be a violation of the competition rules and therefore the article can not be counted as your entry. I hope you don't get disqualified for this...

Hi Kaz,
no problem with me. As far as I know many wiki's use stuff from other sources and that's fine as long as the writer says where it comes from. If anyone comments you can tell them you have my permission to use it anyway smile.gif .

Cheers mate,
Tony

This is quouted from my PM box

I just want to say Tonymiro said it was no problem, and I know it's his article. If I made a mistake with this article I want to excuse myself and I'll have no problem with getting no grade for it. Then it's just a contribution to the wiki but not to the wikiwriters competition.

It's Andrew's decision, but Andrew, if you have doubts with it, just say it's not counting. I don't want to give Tony a bad name and I don't want to let others be envy at me for making such an easy article.

I haven't an issue with Kaz using part/s of my work and he was kind enough to ask me in advance and credits it appropriately. Plus he has added to it as well guys and made it user friendly for the wiki. So, as I said, I've no issue at all with Kaz here.

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Kaz,

I think the general consensus among the Seniors was that although this is a good article, there wasn't enough original work in it to qualify it for entry into the competition. There is no wrongdoing on your part, since you asked permission and attributed your sources, but we want originality for this competition!

Sorry sad.gif

Yes I agree, I just wanted to know if it would get a grade. Well it's nice to have when I go for the wikiwriters badge tongue.gif Thanks for your time!

EDIT: busy with a nice big article on harmonics, fully original tongue.gif
