"If the volume in your rehearsal room is very high, wear ear plugs, it might not be very "rock'n'roll", but it protects your hearing."

This is a great tip from Marcus! I always wear ear plugs at rehearsals and when I go to gigs..Also I wear them on stage if the sound is too loud. They are very cheap and your hearing is priceless..You can't afford to damage it because it is irreversible..If you have a high pitch tone in your head when you go to sleep after a gig/jam/etc that means you have already started doing harm..I know that wearing earplugs can sometimes "cut you the pleasure of music" , but try out different brands in order to find ones that give you the same pleasure at safe levels..I have done so and now I wear them everywhere..

Yeah, maybe earplugs "cut" the pleasure of hearing music, but if you go deaf at some point there is no pleasure in music at all anymore wink.gif I started wearing earplugs many years ago already and I can only recommend that you guys do it too (lol, well, obviously I recommend it since this tip of the day is coming from me biggrin.gif ), no hearing = no music = VERY bad wink.gif

Important tip Marcus smile.gif

When human ears are subject to any loud sound they automatically try to "close" as much as possible to protect themselves, but if the sound is too load it can lead to temporary or permanent damage. A friend of mine did not hear a thing for a week after AC/DC concert.

I use hunting plugs, they cost about 2,5 euros and cut the highs very much. But my ears are very sensitive, and not wearing them on frequent exposure to loud music would kill my hearing in 10 years from now.
