Hey Muris,

I am currently practicing your PG 1 lesson, and I found I am already good to go @ 70bpm. However, between these licks I seem to get lost in the backing with the bends and how long to hold them out and such. I was wondering if you would be able to make a slow backing, like 70bpm with you actually playing along with it. Ie. Gabriel's Iron Maiden 1 backing track, one of them has his guitar playing along so you know exactly what is supposed to be going on. This is the first lesson Ive learned where I get lost in the backing, hopefully you would be able to do this for me. Thanks!

- John

I would be glad to help you with slow backing and me playing over it
but sadly I do not have project folder for that lesson,it's older one sad.gif
I'll try to record it using streaming and input from audio card output.
If not,I'll ask Kris to send me this backing and then I'll do it. wink.gif

Edit,I found the way to record it,it'll be done soon.

There you go,
I was a bit out of tune on some strings and I probably did few mistakes
but you'll get the idea smile.gif

HAHAHAHHA! I love how you just threw in a couple of slides, like after the artifical harmonic in the beginning. I remembered that playing at 70bpm is like a joke to you, and you were just spicing it up a little and having fun. It put a smile on my face. As I suspected, I was playing mutliple parts completely out of timing! So, thank you very much for putting this together for me, it is going to help me alot. Thanks again!

Whoa Muris! Some of these fingerings are intense! I am not even ready for 70bpm. I am having to break it down and work on small sections. Absolutely Brilliant Lesson!

Wish you would make me one of these with the c-etude at 110. I love to play along with you but can't quite do it at 160. yet rolleyes.gif over a metro track would be even cooler

Just a thought, there is a lot of feel when playing along with another guitar cool.gif

I see what you're saying on this one, but you gotta give me this: playing along to a real guitar is a bit nicer. wink.gif

Well, the point is to play off the feel of the other player. I play with you on Bd beginner, pent sub and etude and it is so helpful because I can feel your feel, if that makes any since.

I play with GP for hours every day, both set to loop and speed train. Sometimes just parts or the whole lesson. Could not live without it.

Again, just a thought, as always thanks wink.gif

Well, you can!
Just get hold of a slow down program, like SlowGold.
It does not change the pitch, just the speed. wink.gif

Absolutely, but that means 7-8 extra tracks of guitar at different tempos
while we are supposed to provide backings only,it's GMC policy tho. smile.gif

Hey now, I did not mention changing the lessons. LOLOLOLOLOLOL. (Not this time anyway) laugh.gif

NEEDY? Yes, you can bet I am needy and not ashamed of it at all. I need to get better at a rate I can see. And am bustn' my &^* off to get there.

But my point was, I get 8 + hours a week at just this lesson and am so addicted to it because I see it working. (But 6 months later, I am still only @ 107) I can still play 160 better than 110. But perfection is lost after 107. (Getting to play with Muris at 110 is a sweet ATTAINABLE goal and I just thought this would help me get there.

I am also always digging to find out if I am doing something wrong, I do not have time to spend doing it wrong.

As a student, saying can I hear the instructor at 110 would not be an off the wall question at all. Especially, if I get a recording of it and can play with it hundreds of times after.

Which is, all I asked. wink.gif
