Playing With Backing, playing with your slower backings

May 20 2008, 07:47 PM	GMC:er Posts: 269 Joined: 8-August 07 From: Austin / San Antonio , Texas	Hey Muris, I am currently practicing your PG 1 lesson, and I found I am already good to go @ 70bpm. However, between these licks I seem to get lost in the backing with the bends and how long to hold them out and such. I was wondering if you would be able to make a slow backing, like 70bpm with you actually playing along with it. Ie. Gabriel's Iron Maiden 1 backing track, one of them has his guitar playing along so you know exactly what is supposed to be going on. If not,I'll ask Kris to send me this backing and then I'll do it. Edit,I found the way to record it,it'll be done soon. I love how you just threw in a couple of slides, like after the artifical harmonic in the beginning. I remembered that playing at 70bpm is like a joke to you, and you were just spicing it up a little and having fun. It put a smile on my face. Yes, you can bet I am needy and not ashamed of it at all. I need to get better at a rate I can see. And am bustn' my &^* off to get there. But my point was, I get 8 + hours a week at just this lesson and am so addicted to it because I see it working. (But 6 months later, I am still only @ 107) I can still play 160 better than 110. But perfection is lost after 107. (Getting to *play with* Muris at 110 is a sweet ATTAINABLE goal and I just thought this would help me get there. I am also always digging to find out if I am doing something wrong, I do not have time to spend doing it wrong. As a student, saying can I hear the instructor at 110 would not be an off the wall question at all. Especially, if I get a recording of it and can play with it hundreds of times after.
