Guys, what about Richie Sambora? ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richie_Sambora
Considering how much he always stood in the shadow of Jon Bon Jovi,, He's pretty underrated alraight, and I realy liked his work. Ofcourse,, there are loads of underrated guitarists tho, GMC instructors included smile.gif

I agree with this, he's one of my favourite guitarists!

..and I'd like to add Nuno Bettencourt to the list smile.gif

They arent as great as say Certain GMC instructors (Like Murris and Kris)
But the Guitarists from Scary Kids Scaring kids deserve some kind of recognition
Check out their songs like Snake Devil, A Pistol To My Temple, and Faces
Some of the best Post-Hardcore stuff you can find (in the vein of new popular bands)

I don't understand why so many voted Muris as an underated guitarist. Do we here at GMC not rate him high enough? Steve Vai rates him highly, Guitar Idol rate him highly, everybody I show his music to rate him highly. He is just not well known 'yet'.

So I decided to get your take on the most underated (famous) guitar players. There are many and I tried to include some that I felt hav'nt got the credit they deserve. Like I said, feel free to add any of your choice.

You listed the Cheap Trick guy. Surprised that anyone here but me would appreciate him. But that whole band was great. Especially with the original bass player. I believe he was from Sweden.

I would also add Dave Mustaine, he may not be a good theoretical Player but hes sure using easy Theory with great Skill to make nice Songs, even if hes kind of an bad guy XD, you know all those bad quotes that are comin from him.

And every GMC Teacher should be aprreciated smile.gif

Well i find it a bit annoying that Guthrie Govan isnt sitting in a thrown ruling the world..yet.

People deifnitely think hes awesome but not he's not as popular as average players (in comparison) like Mustaine.

Hmm,

This is a tough one because other than Roy Clark (some people have no Idea just how great a hilbilly country player can be...

There are so many underrated players out there. Guys like Ronnie Montrose, Mathis Jabbs, Steven Gaines, Adrian Vandenburg, Vivian Cambell and on and on and on.

The ultimate under rated guitar player has to Alex Lifeson from Rush. ( I double dog dare anyone to pull off their latest set list from this years Snakes & Arrows tour) That poor guy is a smokin guitar player and has been over shadowed by the ultimate rhythm section for over 30 years...

So..... Where's the Lifeson Lessons....lol....lol.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Look's like Muris is the man. Definitely should have been called Unknown in the title. I said "famous in my original post but I can see how that was easily overlooked.

Muris, you will no longer be unknown after the 14th. Go take the prize man!

This poll is not fair!
Not with Muris, Kris and the (rest of the) GMC instructors.

George Harrison did some amazing guitar work.
I think he is *the* official underrated guitarist. smile.gif

QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.
