Does anyone know anything about this model? It seems to be this one though I can't find a price for it. I have an offer of $300 for a basically mint one with a gig bag, I'm wondering if it's worth it to go for it. I've been looking for a used strat in the <=400 range, this is one option for me right now. What do you guys think? Also if you have any ideas for a good deal on a strat around but under $450 let me know.

It's a Mexico Strat. Basically a standard one but with Tex Mex singles inside. Nice guitar.

Fender rocks, that's all I can say. If it's a Fender, it's probably gonna be quality.

I have the exact guitar. Personally, I think the overall finish of the guitar is beautiful. The Pearl looking finish is just pretty. When you look at it at an angle under a light, it kinda has a light pinkish color going on. Its great for blues kinda music since the Tex Mex are very responsive. The Bridge pickups is a little too bright for me at times but its still nice.

I think its a steal for $300, although when I bought mine, it was around $500-$550. Try it out. Neck is smooth. I think if you put some YJM or any high gain pickups, it will sound much better. Oh yea, if the guy is trying to hustle you for the gig bag, it automatically comes with one. Also be sure it has a patch on the buttom middle of the bag that says Fender 50 with a diamond because mine came with one. Its also a backpack kinda gig bag that is a little bit padded on the inside. I've used it to carry around and its reliable and keeps the guitar safe.

Unfortunately, I sent it back. It had a crack in the finish by the neck pocket that could have been a crack in the wood but was probably just a finish crack. Also, the neck was not straight and I couldn't adjust it to be so. I got a refund though, so I am once again on the lookout for a strat. With a budget of about $500, so let me know if you see anything, please!

Yes it does, but unfortunately they didn't mention that. There was one picture of it and it said it was in excellent plus condition. Which it wasn't, but it looked like it so I though I'd give them the benefit of the doubt wink.gif However Ivan is right, with $500 I'm sure to be able to get myself an excellent strat.

So I ended up getting a USA made american deluxe strat for $880 including shipping. The guitar is in mint condition and the guy put custom shop '54 pickups in it (which is $200) but also included the original pickguard with samarium cobalt noiseless pickups for free. It has a decent hardshell case as well. All in all, I'm really pleased. I love the american deluxe series, they're pretty awesome. Locking tuners, two point trem, s-1 switching system for wiring two pickups in humbucking mode, nice ash body, all around excellent construction. Cool smile.gif
