I believe that Muris would have won had the drummer not messed up badly. Muris was too good for this competition. The backing band weren't at his level of expertise. I wanted Muris, Chris Feener or Tom Quayle to win. Anyway Muris is still the winner because he gets to be an instructor at the best guitar site around smile.gif

Gustavo Guerra didn't deserve to win, well I'm not saying that he didn't DESERVE it, but there were much better guitarist in there, like MURIS biggrin.gif damn that drummer.... Too technical song indeed, damn noob biggrin.gif laugh.gif

I did not watch them all. Watched yours, the winner's, some others. You would have had a much better chance if more of whoever voted on this had I.Q.s over the level of 105. That winner was just so predictable and uncreative. Like a wind up toy. I have cats that display more creativity than that. You were just over their heads Muris.

Anyway that reinforced my view, that there is no reason to look elsewhere than GMC for guitar instruction.

Some good points there! cool.gif

Its a shame they dont let you use a backing track, that way there would be no worries about whats going on in the background smile.gif

I'm not sure if it was forbidden Matt,
I didn't do it that way cause I would be the only one that reject band
and some might say something which I didn't want. smile.gif

either that or the opposite, they were marketing guys/gals (assuming it was not audience vote), and they felt that they could make a quicker buck with that guy in some fashion.

But clearly, Muris demonstrated something that the winner was lacking. I challenge anyone to point out any time in the winning performance, where he did anything fundamentally different from a GMC lesson. Not knocking our lessons, just pointing out, that the winner demonstrated no creativity, while our boy Muris did demonstrate that.

Well, let's blame it on the drummer, shall we? laugh.gif

Things like that happens. Sometimes it's even you who goofs up.

If the drummer hadn't made a mistake, and Muris didn't win, we wouldn't have a scapegoat, right?
So ... wink.gif

QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

The thing about being really stupid, is that there are a zillion ways to be a moron. There are usually several ways to be intelligent, given a situation, but it is a small finite number. But there are always a zillion ways to be to blithering idiot. So finding a new way to have the intellect of an artichoke is nothing to be proud of really, it is easy to do.

So true... To bad im still an artichoke haha
