OK, im gooing shopping for a new amp saturday. im looking to spend around 300-400 dollars, is there any amp in that price range that would be Ok for gigging in like small clubs and jamming wiht a band (which im deffinitely not ready for anyway, im just going to have the money now and not later, bc of job availability and school.) im going to be playing heaviER stuff, but not like Hardcore or anything, i like Marshall amps sound, but idk if their are any giggable in that price range.. a little help (oh and i dont know how amps and ohms and stuff work, could anybody give me an idea of how many i would need for gigging/jamming? that might help a little
sorry if i didnt provide enough details/this is a really noob question.
Edit: oh and on the Marsall in my avatar the overdrive channel doesnt work, thats why i cant use it.

get the pod x3 for that money and you can get any sound out of it you want... then plug it into your marshall through the clean channel.. plus you can do soo much with the pod, like record your self and hear your progress through the weeks

Or the BOSS GT-10 wink.gif

If it's an amp you want, I say try them all untill you find the amp you like most and buy it smile.gif

You really can't find Marshall that is suitable for gig in that price range, maybe for some more money you can buy AVT50X. I have it and it is suitable for gigs, as for home play.

after looking around a bit more i dont think im in dire need of an amp QUITE yet, im not going to be doing anything like recording an album in the near forseeable future, but i do have a question about those POD X3's, is the $100 worth it to buy the live instead of the bean? They can both record into the computer right? thats what me and my friends need right now , if we can record into our pc's we can put some stuff on the internet, none of us are experienced enough for us to really play gigs or record soon so i can wait for an amp (christmas present) if i just do what Outlaw said and play the POD through my marshall's clean channel.
(oh, just to reiterate through all that jabber, the real question is- is the Live x3 worth it over the bean?)

I have the x3 and i love it, endless tones in that thing.. unless youre going on stage soon, just get the x3, its alot of fun to use and play with.. there is a section in here where everyone has posted tones from their pod.. I just posted some with a couple of sound clips from it.. its in the gear section at the top

I have the xt live my opinion is that it has great lead sounds but is a bit difficult to use.
This is me playing live with the "Petrucci solo " effect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB0SZ27cqgM
Also I believe the Boss GT-10 is nice.
