I would choose a guitar too.
That's what we play on. An amp is something we play through.
The tone is in your fingers. Your fingers are on the guitar. Eh?

Anyway. Good luck with the decision! wink.gif

QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

Buy G major, and then see if the guitar fits you, if it doesn't, save some more cash and try to buy a 2000$ high end one. It will last you a lifetime so I think it is worth it to increase teh budget for the sake of it. smile.gif

Well, It would take me a good while to save up $2500, and honestly I don't deserve a guitar of that value.. (YET)! So when I get a more steady job, I'll ravish myself with expensive gear untile then, I'll get good, but more affordible stuff me thinks.

Yeah, I think I'm going to get a new guitar..

I'm Really interested in a Fender Strat..

Never used to be really, but thats what always feels good when I'm at guitar center and stuff..

Maybe consider a 3. option ...

You have a good guitar, two amps and a toneport. Seeing your age and the time you play guitar, you seem to practice really well.

Unless you are completely unhappy with your guitar, my suggestion would be: Keep the stuff you have, continue like you do and take the money and enjoy life !!
