Hey, I posted this is in the podxt/x3 Q&A thread but I don't know if it is still checked or not.

Im hoping to get a Podxt next month but have a rather noob question.

I want to use it plugged into an amp and for recording but using it through an amp confuses me somewhat. Do you have to plug it into a PC while its into an amp? And when it's plugged into an amp will it have the same tone as when plugged directly into a pc?

Thanks in advance.

Also I have a Laney LV100 amp, just in case that is need to know info.

It needs to be plugged into an amp either way - for recording, think of it as a soundcard, you would need an amp and speakers to get it to work. Absolute best would be a decent pair of powered monitor speakers, headphones work well, or a clean guitar amp would be reasonable.

pod is quite flexible.

You won't get exactly the same tone in recording or through the amp, basically because the amp will add additional coloration. But you can definitely learn what works best in each case and get out the most of the pod in each situation.
