Try AMS They used to ship to Canada. I've never had a problem with them!

Really depend's Bog, I bought my guitar from AMS and it was shipped to me. Not across the world but it made it to me fine. Still in the factory box then double boxed with packing peanuts. The further it travel's, the better chance of damage so keep that in mind. smile.gif

I'm getting a crazy idea lately to buy a bass from a US store musicianfriend or any other (my girlfriend got a forwarding us postal address)..Bass would be in its case (thinking of fender jazz bass) (not sure if its travel one and how sturdy it is)..Do you think it would come in one "piece" , if they double package it (case + packaging should be sturdy)...Yeah it would travel across US and than to Serbia using DHL..
Seems like adventure but I may be up for it in the future since here the prices are really high..

I think it would be fine. HS case plus dbl box should do the job just fine. I would still insure it through DHL for what you pay for it. Should'nt be but a few dollars more, also they may require a signature when it is delivered.

Consider AMS as mentioned, I have bought from them and had good experiences. And only heard good things about them from others. They also give a free extra year warranty on a lot of products. I have also bought from MF, MF is fine also. MF and Guitar Center are owned by the same company btw.

It is very safe to buy from these companies. And they have excellent return and exchange policies.

I also recommend scratch and dent. That sounds bad, but typically these are just returns. I have gotten 3, from MF and AMS. 2 were perfect, not even a pick mark on them. One had some marks on it, but they just buffed out. Same thing as your guitar will be in a week. You get full manufacturer's warranty. And a sizable discount. Nice to get a new guitar with warranty at a price not much more than you can sell it on Ebay.

And yes, they pack things well. I think AMS is actually better about that, I have gotten double boxed items from them always. MF has sent single boxed.

I would be careful about this. Should there be a problem, well they are not stupid. You have to return it in the shipping box that it came in. The store certainly would not cover damage in transit, if they know it was delivered to Serbia, and I would think they could tell by stickers and writing, or attempts to remove such. I would think any possibility of return might be out the window. So as Sken said, at least make sure you have it insured by a second party.

Just what occurs to me, not that I have the definitive answer here.
