If I understand it correctly...does a Line6 amp have a POD built in? Would I be wasting my money since I already have a POD 2.0 to get a Line6 amp also?

Well I think if you already have a POD, you should consider something of a little better sound quality. How much is your budget?

Yeah, I agree on that, there are more interesting choices. Like getting to know a tube amp, even if you're on a budget there are small ones that could fit. Like Epi Jr or Blackheart + a few others depending on your $$$.

So why this nagging about tube amps? There's another quality of sound plus the fact of having one with a few basic EQ controls and volume and gain will teach you a lot. You'll also get more understanding of how you should set up your POD for a better sound.

I suggest looking at other options as mentioned above...You don't need a line6 amp while you have the POD..

I agree with MickeM. Blackheart or Epi Jr. are great choices if you have the needed amount of green paper at your disposal. smile.gif

I'm not going to lie...I really don't have any grasp of how to "tune" an amp by adjusting gain, eq settings etc. What attracted me to the Line6 amp in Guitar Center was how easy it was to switch from blues to metal with the push of a button...just like my pod!

Yes but You can do that also with you POD right? So why don't you buy a good quality amp that will satisfy you in a long run? I can garantee that a few pots is lot easier to handle than a couple of buttons. ALso when I see buttons on the amp, it just doesn't fell right if you know what I mean wink.gif

I'm thinking to get Line6 Spider Valve edition,
not sure if it's gonna be 1x12 or 2x12.

I just need solid tube combo
and this series with efxs sounds really great. smile.gif

ehehhe especially those amps that have self adjusting movable pots smile.gif Seems weird to see them move on their own wink.gif

Waste of cash to get a line six if you have a good stereo connected to computer and also have a pod

Try getting a better quality amp than line 6. I've heard that line 6's are basicly tone nightmares (as in you can barely get any other tone than what you hear first.) Try what is suggested above (Blackheart, epi.jr) also look at crate amps and marshall amps. they both have pretty good amps at good prices (Marshall may be a little expensive though)

It shouldn't be easy wink.gif

the day you'll start giging you'll probably face the fact that you'll have to play on borrowed equipment, unless you're the main attraction for the evening. You'll key in your sound during your quick sound check and when you return in the evening you dial in the settings you found useful. Imagine standing there infront of a tube head Marshall and not knowing squat about what to do huh.gif

You'd be doing yourself a favor. It's part of being a guitarist to know how to use a real amp and that's something you have to learn cool.gif ...there's no buttons to push to go from blues to metal, well, maybe by your feet there are laugh.gif

I've read a review that while in "tube mode" it sounded great, but the line out i.e the sound from the digital part alone sounded bad.
If I remember well the tester first ran it "live" so to speak, with the tubes, and then after that he tested the digital part and was disappointed. So that's either good grades fo rthe tube amp or bad grades for the digital part.

avoid Line 6.. modelling amps are nothing but trouble mad.gif if you have a pod than you can setup your effects that way. no need for the Line 6 Presets.
