Slow down people!

What this study actually says is that, on average, people who listen to classical music live healthier, safer lives than metal heads. It does not suggest that the music itself is what killed or saved the people, as that would be ridiculous.

BECAUSE I NEED METAL IN MY LIFE>> JUST LIKE AN EAGLE NEEDS TO FLY!
-Manowar

I would rather die than not listen to metal biggrin.gif but you have to balance your metal, i listen to bands like Brain Drill, Gojira, Opeth, Nile, Dying Fetus, Putrid Pile and other very very heavy things but i also enjoy Coldplay, and Porcupine Tree, Jack Johnson, and Bob Dylan. Also on the show myth busters the plants they let listen to heavy metal actually grew faster.. so im not sure what to believe after the comment above. I believe modern science will help with my need for a longer life. Some scientists are predicting that in the next 20 years lifespans will be increasing faster than we can age, which basically means immortality, so im not so worried about keeping myself alive while technology can do it for me biggrin.gif

BRING ON THE METAL!

Health is 90% personal responsibility, that is what I can't stand about all this "health insurance" crap. The real name underneath all the bullcrap is "disease insurance" because people forgot to eat healthy, exercise, and stay fit in the first place so got health problems as a result. Doctors won't save everything, plus they cost tons of money. My grandpa has been taking Vitamin C tablets and other supplements for many many years now and he is very healthy and doesn't have a tenth of the health problems people his age and below are currently having, he is 90 years old; and that is just his result with supplements.

Sorry if I got off topic lol, but yea, the study was in a book of mine done by Dr. Maoshing Ni, like I said, so no I can't link it, but he is a big writer on traditional Chinese medicine and health in general.

Here are some books he has written: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=s...rds=maoshing+ni

So metal can kill you....

That's so metal!!!!! tongue.gif

very metal and probably the best way to die tongue.gif

But yea i think the key to a healthy life is to live healthily(diet, exersize, general lifestyle). I think although metal may be a little bad for your health i think its a very low vice compared to some.. if people start saying stuff like im a smoker but i don't listen to metal so im healthy.. thats a big farfetched. Perhaps we need some sort of scale to show the amount of unhealthy effect some things have... i bet metal would be very low on that scale smile.gif

Kind of not related to this, but still a bit. A few years ago I read in a swedish newspaper that there had been made a study over what music people listened to and if they used narcotics. The people who listened to classical music was the ones who used most narcotics, and not any other kind of music that you could think.

And no, I will not link to any source, I read this a few years ago and won't be able to find it.

This really makes sense... When I listen to Coldplay I feel peace.. sleep.gif when I listen to Metallica's Master Of Pupppets I feel angry! mad.gif And when I feel angry I ususally feel nervous... But... Please doctor! let me hear Extreme Metal!!! just one more time!!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

that's interesting because it's the exact opposite with me
after a long day of work or if I'm stressed out, I need some metal to calm my nerves
when I'm stressed, any sort of soft rock feels like someone is slowing pinching the back of my neck

as for the plant thing, Mythbusters tested that theory and I'm pretty sure the plants that were exposed to metal did better

Look at the topic for my guitar...

As for that old chinese guy, I bet he only ate rice, bamboo and fish. And probably listened to metal.

But hey everybody's gotta die sometime. It's just to make the best of it biggrin.gif

What I gotta do before I go: Eat a lot more bbq'ed meat. Try to drive 300 kph in a car myself driving, and have a menage trois with 2 redheads..

So far only had one redhead at a time.. And my top speed is 265 tongue.gif
