Well...I took everyone's advice and spent a LOT of time at Guitar Center. Even though I have had some bad luck there...(2 guitars with screwed up necks!) they have been absolutely awesome to deal with. This last one was way past the 30 day return policy and they still took it back no questions asked. I found this new Ibanez RG4EXQM1 that I played for a LONG time. I was very impressed with the action. Very low and little to no buzzing. I took the advice I received from fkalich and Ivan and played for awhile unplugged. I tried this out on many different guitars and couldn't believe how much more I could tell about the guitar! There was a surprising amount of buzzing on many of the guitars. The Ibanez played very nicely and has humbucker, single, humbucker pickups. They are the INF pickups which I have heard mixed reviews about, but they sound fine to me. The guitar is very sharp looking too, which I realize doesn't matter...but doesn't hurt also! The best part is that it was $50 more than the Fender so it was $450. BUT...because of the 4th of July weekend sale it was only $399, which made it an even swap for the Fender! Here is a pic of the exact guitar from the website. I got the same color. Thanks again guys...this one I am very confident is a great guitar for me!

I guess this clears up the "should I keep the Showmaster or the Mexi Strat?" question eh?!

QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.
